Some people touch our lives at certain points on our life’s journey. We are forever transformed and forever grateful for having met them and for the growth they have helped us to achieve.
Jan Spangler is one such person in my life. A former doctor suggested that I contact Jan for my PTSD during a time of unrest. I knew I wanted to plot a new path in my life’s journey, but I was unsure how to do that. I was not emotionally content, nor did I understand my patterns and the process of how to change my reactions to my situation. This is where Jan’s gift lies. She helps one deal with the joys, the sorrows, and everyday trials that one faces in life. In the more than one year that I have worked with Jan, I have come to value and appreciate her knowledge, understanding, compassion, and genuine dedication to the mental health profession. Jan has been extremely effective in helping me identify and build on my strengths through EMDR therapy.
Because of Jan’s support, I have learned how to focus on more personal growth.
Thank you,
Brian S

I was skeptical and a little apprehensive to try brainspotting. I trusted Jan because she had given me some very helpful ideas thus far, and she really thought I should try it. Wow! One minute you are sitting there following threads of thoughts in your mind, and the next giant tears are leaking out of your eyes!
Previously, I have run from every relationship in my life, avoided the public eye at work and hidden out on a rental farm with my animals. In the past two months, I have met the man of my dreams! He and I are so evenly paced and have an amazing relationship that just gets better every minute. I was put on a special assignment at work and knocked it out of the park. The business owner asked to have me replace a senior manager position on the team, and I was promoted within a few weeks of joining that team. Today I am working on investing in my own home.
What has changed in the last six months from all my past attempts at “self improvement”? In the past, I have read books, listened to tapes, attended seminars, tried prescriptions, tried meditation, tried yoga. Nothing changed me. I believed I was just weak, and this was me. However, my life, my attitude, my outlook, my self-confidence, have all materially changed in the last few months, and the only thing I have done differently was the crazy brainspotting! I believe that is what helped me and made such an impact and difference in my life.
